Our Functions

The SLNA for Watershed Management serves as the central coordinating and implementing body for all watershed and springshed development activities in Manipur. Our key functions include:

  1. Planning & Coordination
    • Formulating strategic plans for watershed and springshed projects in line with national and state policies.
    • Coordinating with government departments, NGOs, and community-based organizations to ensure synergy and efficiency.
  2. Implementation & Supervision
    • Executing projects that focus on soil conservation, water resource management, vegetation restoration, and sustainable farming practices.
    • Overseeing the work of implementing agencies to ensure projects meet quality, time, and sustainability standards.
  3. Community Mobilization
    • Encouraging local participation through village committees, farmer groups, and self-help groups.
    • Providing training and awareness programs to build community ownership of natural resource management.
  4. Capacity Building & Technical Support
    • Offering technical guidance on eco-friendly agricultural practices, water harvesting techniques, and biodiversity conservation.
    • Enhancing skills of field-level workers, officials, and community members for better project execution.
  5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
    • Conducting regular field inspections, progress reviews, and impact assessments.
    • Maintaining transparent reporting systems to track results and improve future projects.
