About Watershed Management

The State Level Nodal Agency (SLNA) for Watershed Management, Manipur, under the Planning Department, is dedicated to conserving and restoring the state’s natural resources — soil, water, and vegetation — to ensure a healthier environment and stronger rural livelihoods.

Registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989 (Reg. No. 426/M/SR/2010), SLNA serves as the principal implementing body for watershed and springshed management projects across Manipur.

Our leadership includes:

  • Chief Secretary, Govt. of Manipur – Chairman (General Body)
  • Administrative Secretary, Planning Dept. – Chairman (Executive Committee)
  • Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Head of Agency
  • Additional Chief Executive Officer (Addl. CEO) – Supports the CEO in overseeing operations and project execution

With a dedicated team of technical and non-technical professionals, SLNA works to promote eco-restoration, sustainable productivity, and community participation, ensuring long-term environmental security and improved quality of life in rural areas.
