Our Functions
The SLNA for Watershed Management serves as the central coordinating and implementing body for all watershed and springshed development activities in Manipur. Our key functions include:
- Planning & Coordination
- Formulating strategic plans for watershed and springshed projects in line with national and state policies.
- Coordinating with government departments, NGOs, and community-based organizations to ensure synergy and efficiency.
- Implementation & Supervision
- Executing projects that focus on soil conservation, water resource management, vegetation restoration, and sustainable farming practices.
- Overseeing the work of implementing agencies to ensure projects meet quality, time, and sustainability standards.
- Community Mobilization
- Encouraging local participation through village committees, farmer groups, and self-help groups.
- Providing training and awareness programs to build community ownership of natural resource management.
- Capacity Building & Technical Support
- Offering technical guidance on eco-friendly agricultural practices, water harvesting techniques, and biodiversity conservation.
- Enhancing skills of field-level workers, officials, and community members for better project execution.
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Conducting regular field inspections, progress reviews, and impact assessments.
- Maintaining transparent reporting systems to track results and improve future projects.
